We received word yesterday that we have moved up to number 14 on the wait-list. A friend of mine heard that we moved and was excited for us, and I thanked him for his excitement. Honestly, I have been struggling with a certain level of cynicism as this process has dragged on and on. On one hand, I know that our Lord is faithful and will accomplish His purposes and His plans cannot be thwarted. Along with this, I believe that the Lord has led our family to adoption and to adopt a child from Honduras. Yet, as we hit the four and a half year mark of this process, I have grown numb to the incremental steps. I know I should be excited for another step toward having our family blessed and transformed by another child in our lives, yet my excitement in tempered by the voice in the back of my head that says this could still be another year or more. All of this to say, thank you to so many of you that have been on this journey with us and have shown patient persistent love and support. Thank you for understand how we struggle with this wrestling between being excited, yet hesitant to get too "ramped up". Thank you for your prayers!
Yes! We are number 14, and that is exciting!

Fund Raisers
Please pray for us and for the process of our adoption. We cannot express how much we appreciate your friendship and support throughout this process. Your prayers and support have been invaluable. Some have asked for ways to help out financially, so we have been looking into various fund raising ideas. Here are two ways to help financially for those who would like to do so.
For our coffee drinking friends, we have been working with Just Love Coffee to set up our fund raising site. We apologize for the earlier problems with accessing the site. Things should be working now. Click on the banner below to be directed to the site for shopping for coffee. A portion of every purchase will go toward our adoption fund.
If you want to give to our adoption fund, but do not want to buy coffee, we have also set up a GoFundMe account. You can click on the banner below to be redirected to that page.

The Number 17
We have moved again - down to number 17. We continue to hear various rumors from others in the process of adoption with Honduras, and from other contacts in Honduras. It has been interesting to measure our response to each rumor. We used to get excited or upset with each rumor, but now that we are a few years into this process, we realize that much of what we hear is not true or won't come to fruition. As a result, we have grown in our trust of the Lord. In the Bible in the book of James, we read, "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go in to such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit' - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.' As it is, you boast in your arrogance." (James 4:13-16a) What a great reminder that all of our plans are in the Lord's hands and are subject to the Lord's authority. And so, we are glad that our number has moved again, and we wait upon the Lord's leading and His bringing our adoption to fruition.

Moving Again!
We have received our last Waitlist number in November of last year with the knowledge that it would be a while until we would receive a new number. There was a transition taking place in Honduras as a new organization was being established to oversee adoptions. We had heard that the new organization was in place and the committee met in mid-March. Rumors began to circulate about the number of referrals given out, and we were hopeful of moving down to around number 15, but yesterday, we received the official word that we have moved one position to number 19. Although a little disappointed, this does show us that the process is moving once again, and for that we rejoice. Thank you for your continued prayer for us in this process.
