The Number 17
We have moved again - down to number 17. We continue to hear various rumors from others in the process of adoption with Honduras, and from other contacts in Honduras. It has been interesting to measure our response to each rumor. We used to get excited or upset with each rumor, but now that we are a few years into this process, we realize that much of what we hear is not true or won't come to fruition. As a result, we have grown in our trust of the Lord. In the Bible in the book of James, we read, "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go in to such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit' - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.' As it is, you boast in your arrogance." (James 4:13-16a) What a great reminder that all of our plans are in the Lord's hands and are subject to the Lord's authority. And so, we are glad that our number has moved again, and we wait upon the Lord's leading and His bringing our adoption to fruition.

Moving Again!
We have received our last Waitlist number in November of last year with the knowledge that it would be a while until we would receive a new number. There was a transition taking place in Honduras as a new organization was being established to oversee adoptions. We had heard that the new organization was in place and the committee met in mid-March. Rumors began to circulate about the number of referrals given out, and we were hopeful of moving down to around number 15, but yesterday, we received the official word that we have moved one position to number 19. Although a little disappointed, this does show us that the process is moving once again, and for that we rejoice. Thank you for your continued prayer for us in this process.

A move of 5
We got our new number!!!!! So hard to believe that we have moved 5 spots. That is a huge jump compared to what we have been getting. We have now moved 50 spots since we got our first number back June 18, 2012. We have now been on our adoption journey 3 years and 9 months and 4 days. Who would have thought that it would have taken this long?!? Not us. With this move it makes it seem a little real again. That this might actually come to be. We have begun to talk and dream about when we get that phone call.
We were led to believe that with the changes in Honduras that the committee might not meet until next year so what a pleasant surprise it was when we found out that they did and then made so many referrals! Please continue to pray for us and our little one/ones as well as rejoice with us in celebrating the children that will soon becoming part of a new family! Please also pray for the committee that their schedules would stay clear so that they can meet over the next few months especially with the new transitions in the country!
November is National Adoption Month, if God is placing it on your heart to somehow make an impact in the life of an orphan through adoption, foster care, supporting those that do through prayer and financial support please act now. Don't delay, God desires us all to play a part in helping to care for the widows and orphans! You Can Make A Difference!
